Battle of the Leather Jackets – Left vs Right Edition

What is it with leftists – leftist women in particular – and they’re need to insult and denigrate Republican women? Is their compulsion to obsess and mock conservative fashion a knee-jerk response to their own self loathing, or is there something else going on?

The latest example is a hit piece by the Daily Beast’s Katie Baker, in which she calls Casey DeSantis the “Walmart Melania.” In it she takes hard swipes at both Melania and Casey. The First Lady of Florida showed up on the campaign trail in Iowa this weekend wearing a ghastly black leather jacket—American flag on the front, an alligator and the silhouette of her state on the back, with the sneering words, “Where Woke Goes to Die”—that brought to mind nothing so much as the racks of a Red State big-bin store where it would be retailing for $24.99.

Say what you will, but if compare Casey’s outfit and general appearance to Baker’s photo above, the “bargain bin” moniker seems to fit one of the two a bit better than the other. Projecting much?

This isn’t a new thing though. Katie Baker and those like her love to punch below the fashionista belt, taking swipes at Melania, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene and other Republican females. That’d be fine if they wanted to argue the merits of those womens’ arguments, but the typical leftist instead wants to talk about how “like, how gauche they are,” or argue that somehow it’s clear to everyone that these women are desperate to escape the clutches of their overbearing, patronizing husbands — despite all evidence pointing to the contrary.

Put plainly, the left — and its women in particular — can’t abide the thought that conservative women might actually choose to live the lives they have. They can’t stand the fact that they look happy and fulfilled, and so they attack in the cheapest fashion possible (pun intended).
